Résumé

BACKGROUND // The multiple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are beginning to be seen from the alteration of vital statistics figures. This is summarized in changes in the usual causes of death and excess attributable mortality, which can finally be seen in structural changes in the populations of the countries. For this reason, this research was created with the objective of determining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on maternal, perinatal and neonatal mortality in four locations in Bogota D.C. (Colombia).METHODS // A retrospective longitudinal investigation was carried out in which 217,419 mortality data were analyzed in the towns of Kennedy, Fontibon, Bosa and Puente Aranda in the city of Bogota -Colombia that occurred between the years 2018 to 2021, of which maternal (54), perinatal (1,370) and neonatal (483) deaths in order to identify a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection that could be related to the excess mortality associated with COVID-19. The data were collected from the open records of vital statistics of the National Statistics Department (DANE), where they were analyzed from frequency measures or central tendency and dispersion according to the types of variables. The specific mortality indicators related to maternal, perinatal and neonatal death events were calculated.RESULTS // A decrease in perinatal and neonatal mortality was evidenced since 2020, which was associated with the progressive de-crease in pregnancies in those same years;Additionally, a considerable increase in maternal deaths was observed for 2021 compared to the other years analyzed. The proportion of maternal deaths in 2020 and 2021 by 10% and 17%, respectively, were attributed to COVID-19.CONCLUSIONS // It is observed that the trend of maternal mortality is related to the increase in mortality from COVID-19, maternal deaths associated with COVID-19 occurred specifically in the zonal planning units that registered more than 160 cases of COVID-19 for the year 2021.

Résumé

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has demonstrated the need for genomic epidemiology surveillance. To date, various methodologies have been applied, including metagenomic approaches and amplicon-based sequencing associated with high-throughput sequencing platforms. We adapted some details in amplicon-based sequencing using a SARS-CoV-2 community panel (Illumina AmpliSeq), with additional modifications for balanced and high-quality sequencing using the MiSeq platform. The modified protocol was used to detect circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants in Goiás state, Brazil. Initially, RNA samples were obtained from swab samples from 15 patients from the state of Goiás, Brazil, in November/2020 and February/2021 to validate protocol steps. The libraries were prepared following AmpliSeq for Illumina workflow with modifications;subsequently, we analyzed 305 positive samples collected from the state of Goiás from December 2020 to July 2021. For protocol improvement, we removed the need to treat samples with DNAse and demonstrated the importance of quantification by qPCR before and after library dilution. No fragmentation pattern was observed in the samples analyzed with Bioanalyzer. The libraries returned sequencing results that were used for genome assembly and variant detection. We were able to assemble SARS-CoV-2 genomes from 318 samples, which were used to identify 13 variants of coronavirus circulating in Goiás throughout those months. Variants of concern, such as Alpha (B.1.1.7), Gamma (P.1) and Delta (B.1.617.2) were detected;the latter was detected at first in Goiás in April 2021. The modifications in the workflow we developed were successfully applied to detect SARS-CoV-2 variants, resulting in high coverage genome assembly, and they can be used to increase the number of genome sequences and aid in epidemiological surveillance in Brazil.

Résumé

This article has as its theme the teaching formation in Physical Education in Amazonas in times of COVID-19, having as objective to describe and analyze the Plan of Return to Present Activities and the Pedagogical Curricular Guidelines facing the challenges of the current context. A qualitative approach study was carried out with emphasis on document analysis, analyzing the public policy cycle present in the documents. As results, a well-structured strategic planning was identified, but with the allocation of public resources to the private sector, with the focus on teacher training focused only on the fulfillment of sanitary protocols, affecting the workload and the quality of teaching. It is concluded that the agency has the tools to ensure a qualitative approach in the formative and procedural context of education professionals and that the proposal of the approach of Physical Education for Renewed Health comes as a provisional solution for teacher training in Physical Education for the context.

Résumé

Objective: to describe the main recommended actions on prevention actions related to occupational exposure of health professionals working at COVID-19, available until March 2020. Content: The current pandemic disease caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus has its transmission favored by close and unprotected contact with secretions or excretions from infected patients, mainly through salivary droplets. Organizational prevention practices should be prioritized, since patient's arrival at the health service, optimizing the flow of care, the first care and during health care actions, to minimize occupational exposure to the biological agent. Health professionals classified as a risk group should be removed from activities at risk of contamination. Those contaminated or adulterated must remain in quarantine to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Final considerations: care to avoid contamination of workers in this pandemic by the new coronavirus must be prioritized, prevented from affecting the assistance to the population that seeks assistance in health services. © 2020, Centro de Estudos da Faculdade de Enfermagem da UERJ. Résumé

This study seeks to reflect on intercultural care regarding the how to act in the nursing process in the face of different cultures. This is a theoretical study with reflexive approach based on the experience of the academic in building their portfolio carried out in 2020 by means of reflections based on academic portfolios of the fifth semester of a nursing program in the South region of Brazil. After analysis of the produced material and of the noted reflections in the portfolio diary, the following categories emerged: intercultural care in nursing courses and interculturality in the pandemic. Thus, after reflection and discussion on nursing care, we will focus on interculturality in the face of the courses taken, the experiences of the academic trajectory in this period, and, finally, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in the process of care for people from the point of view of interculturality. This thematic becomes important for bringing up a reflection on the nurse-patient relation. © 2022, Conselho Federal de Medicina. All rights reserved.
